you can shove in more memory and a bigger hard drive later, it was last you a hell of a lot longer than a damned gateway and you will not notice a power deficiency with business apps

USED THINKPAD

My boss wouldn't be down with me buying "used" not that I object since my computer at home is used. He just wouldn't want me buying used products on the company card, dont ask me why. I tried buying something awhile back off ebay and he was opposed to it because the product was used.

your boss makes a lot of retarded decisions

did you even LOOK at the specs? no core duo, no dvd burner, smaller screen, 1/4 the ram, smaller drive, jeez dude :p

what the fuck do you need core duo for if it's going to be a work laptop? you don't. he already explained to us that he's running some ancient dailer program, it's not going to tax his system. 1/4 of the ram of a system 1/4 as reliable.

a thinkpad will last him a hell of a lot longer than that gateway or that toshiba.

when one is on a strict budget for work one should look for reliability, not unnecessary specs

the specs are clearly outclassed, period...you're telling him to buy something so old that it's being sold by IBM, not lenovo as well...gg

do you have a head to head comparison that a 3 year old IBM is going to be better than a new gateway? not bloody likely :p

in terms of reliability, yes. easy.

he doesn't need those uber specs, period :p

so get a pIII thinkpad and call it a day brad...they never break even when considerably older and it will save you a bundle!

fucking a flynavy

you are wrong, period...it IS OK to admit that once in a while

Thank you for ordering from Newegg.com. Please print this page for your records.

My boss seemed to be happy with my choice too, well your guys choice!!! haha

Thanks again for all the help, I never bought a laptop before. At least now I can toss this old machine and clear up some desk space!

another thing, if he ever wants to go to vista down the road in a year or two, the thinkpad will not support it but the gateway already does right out of the box
