I'm only on the side of cops when they are not fucking up and are doing their jobs correctly, without bigotry, malice, etc. I just don't believe in throwing out the whole damn system.

Look, if you want to argue with me, argue with me. I'm not here to defend anybody's viewpoint but my own, and as much as you'd like to paint with that broad brush, there's not a vast conspiracy of uniform values out to steamroll your poor widdle opinion.
I think we'd be better off with unarmed, demilitarized police. Want to argue against that, go for it.

I agree that a demilitarized police would be a big improvement. Unarmed would be difficult, at this point - would love to hear how that would be rolled out.
You can't really steamroll someone's opinion if you're not influencing their opinion or the situation being discussed. Many things discussed here are merely filling up ticks of the clock. That's not to say it's not interesting or entertaining. I like hearing about what makes other people tick. It may have some influence on how I tick. It may not.
