It's interesting, we have red rice here. Rice cooked with tomatoes but we don't call it red rice, just rice with tomatoes. I love that stuff.
We just call it rice as well.

Arroz con habichuelas (Rice and beans - some others here would call it Arroz con frijoles)
Arroz con gandules (Rice with Chick Peas)
etc.
 
Puerto Rican rice and beans with pollo is off the hook.
If I knew how to cook it, I'd cook it once a week.
Asian rice is different than Latin rice, they don't use the oil.
Spent so long learning asian style cooking it would probably be like when I used to get frustrated plinking on my exes banjo, counterintuitive.
