It's considered an sub machine gun.
That's what I thought. I was confused by your post which is why I asked.
It's considered an sub machine gun.
This is what the .308 assault rifle does to 1/2" steel and 3/4" machinist steel (which is considerably tougher)
Those poor deer don't stand a chance

Ryan really did have a blast, having grown up in IL he was fully unaware of the joy of shooting guns from your own back porch, just for fun He kept waiting for the cops to show up.
My dad told us that he's got a bitchy neighbor who has called the sherrif's office on him before, the sherrif came out and of course no laws were being broken so the guy just sat and bs'd with my dad and admired his guns and took a couple of shots himself.
Awesome
Those are some good impact pics.
This is just a few more pics from Saturday. That Thompson was freaking cool to shoot.

I was really shocked when I heard what an automatic weapon goes for. MP5 was 13-18k
M16 $13-20k and the Thompson I think was $20k. I'm not 100% on these numbers, but I know I'm w/in the range.
Edited for Coqui, cause he rules at the internet.
Well, a few years ago there were still companies selling "new" FA subguns, since they had registered hundreds if not thousands of receiver blanks before FOPA took effect.
They were fairly inexpensive, under $1,000, no idea what the pricing is now.

I think the rest of the gun can be "new" but hte receiver of course has to be pre 86.
That's to the best of my knowledge.
They are machine gun conversion parts, owning one and having access to an AR15 is "constructive possession", this isnt a law it's a BATF 'rule.' The courts are prone to upholding rules as expert opinion though. There are also registered auto-sears, which I'm not 100% sure on how they work legally.
