POW POW POW

Ryan's been looking to buy a S&W 7 shooter, if that happens we'll end up with a reloading room. Ammo is ridiculous to buy but much more cost effective to do yourself, and you can recycle casings and such.

We were at my Dad's house in the spring and trying out some of his goodies, this is the house I grew up in actually and yes they were shooting kitchen equipment from teh backyard.

This is a .45 cal uzi imported from Israel in 1981

This is my dad's .308 assault rifle, this is his deer hunting rifle. He says he's killed 30-40 deer with that since he got it in '75.

This is a .44 magnum he tried to get me to fire. I held it in my hand, lined up the sights and chickened out at the last minute. I was having a good time with the .45 S&W target revolver, but got spooked by the semi-auto pistol so by the time he put the magnum in my hand I was done.

The S&W target revolver and the semi-auto pistol, along with the tarp we put down to collect the casings for future recycling. My dad converted an entire bedroom in his house as a reloading room. He has this huge table in the middle of it with 6 different stations for the various bullets he reloads.

The remains of the FryDaddy at teh end of the day

I have pics and youtubes of me firing guns at 20 weeks pregnant, but I'm not posting them because I know my stance and stuff was incorrect or whatever. All I can say is I hit the center of the targets everytime.

That looks like a blast. He bought a few more guns, but we ran out of daylight. We found a sat dish in the creek so I sat it up all nice and purdy, then we shot the shit out of it.

This is what the .308 assault rifle does to 1/2" steel and 3/4" machinist steel (which is considerably tougher)

Those poor deer don't stand a chance

Ryan really did have a blast, having grown up in IL he was fully unaware of the joy of shooting guns from your own back porch, just for fun  He kept waiting for the cops to show up.

My dad told us that he's got a bitchy neighbor who has called the sherrif's office on him before, the sherrif came out and of course no laws were being broken so the guy just sat and bs'd with my dad and admired his guns and took a couple of shots himself.

Awesome

That looks funnay to me. Who's the chick?

I was really shocked when I heard what an automatic weapon goes for. MP5 was 13-18k
M16 $13-20k and the Thompson I think was $20k. I'm not 100% on these numbers, but I know I'm w/in the range.

Edited for Coqui, cause he rules at the internet.

It's because it's a fixed market, there are no new ones. Every single one of those was transferred pre-1986 and the law banning them was attached to the law that makes it nearly impossible to ban ammunition. A new wholesale AR15 is $700-$800.

I only own two .22 rifles. A single bolt action, and another semi which jams a lot, junk, and rusted. I haven't shot them in probably 12 yrs. A friend came over a couple years back and we cleaned up the rifles. Couldn't get the semi working right. Still jammed up.

My former neighbor had a few rifles, shotguns, and a 357 mag revolver. We used to go up to his backwoods area and fire a few rounds off. I was probably 12 and could barely hold the 357. Holy shit, the recoil even with 38 specials in it.

It's fun to shoot rifles and guns for awhile, but I lost the appeal. Gets boring shooting at the same target plate or whatever. Skeet looks like fun/challenging, but another hobby I don't have a lot of cash for or know anyone who does. I'll settle with computers and junk :)

Well, a few years ago there were still companies selling "new" FA subguns, since they had registered hundreds if not thousands of receiver blanks before FOPA took effect.

They were fairly inexpensive, under $1,000, no idea what the pricing is now.

I think the rest of the gun can be "new" but hte receiver of course has to be pre 86.

That's to the best of my knowledge.

Pretty much, which piece the registered receiver is varies depending on the gun of course, with the AR-15/M16 it's the lower receiver, with the FN-FAL it's the upper receiver...

There are also registered auto-sears, which I'm not 100% sure on how they work legally.

They are machine gun conversion parts, owning one and having access to an AR15 is "constructive possession", this isnt a law it's a BATF 'rule.' The courts are prone to upholding rules as expert opinion though.
