well especially in this instance
That book is about the dog and its journey, not the people
but they attached an a-list actor to it so now its probably a man/dog buddy movie

keep your expectations low

I don't mind the idea of Ford in there, but the director is a Disney/Dreamworks guy. Producer has some good movies behind him, and the writer that adapted it is one of the two guys heading up American Gods.

It might be ok, but it won't be near as brutal as the book is.
