went to TIFF to see almodóvar's latest yesterday. pain and glory. with banderas.
first thing that struck me was how much it embraced being a digital-era movie. had some absolutely mesmerizing animation in the title card and through the intro. really sharp use of colours and contrast. big fan of the visual boldness.
story was really nice. had enough separate pieces to keep it very interesting and a touching ending that I think perfectly wrapped everything up. really and truly enjoyable watch.
