Hilary Clinton running for President

:tard:

Were your friends DRAFTED I could see that as a plausible arguement, since they had to have willingly joined the military it is not.

That is not the point nor was it the question. You asked how my life had changed not what decisions they made because of the war.

back up your statement to the question you asked, dont just go out to a completely different question to back it up.

You're putting entirely too much stock into the office of the president. The reality of the matter is that the president is more of a figurehead than anything, being as he does have to work closely with a large number of people who, for the most part, run the country as a collective.
I find this a odd defense. Now I can take anything good that has happened during his presidency and claim he had no hand in it.

It's not the President's fault either. The only thing he could possibly do would be to reign in big oil, which would make him even less popular due to their behemoth media and political control.

but seriously, every decade there has been a "conflict" which has taken lives. You people have very selective memories and seem to forget the Gulf War, and Gulf War Syndrome which "still" takes lives :tard:

To an extent it's true... the impact of any presidency isn't actually felt until long after the guy has left office. It's like a ripple effect or whatever.

We were screwed either way with that election as far as world perceptions go. Both candidates sucked.

So that is a bad thing? It's something our male leaders haven't been able to accomplish.

Yeah both sucked but Kerry sucked a lot more. Like Gore, he would have ruined this country. I certainly don't like Bush as President - especially with all the civil liberties violations - but in choosing the lesser of two evils I prefered the evil that wasn't going to lick Muslim taint so the hippies could feel better about themselves.

I don't think it would be a bad thing to exterminate (and yes, that's the most suitable word imho) the jihadists but the problem is that as much balls as she may have she is a fucking socialist. That is far more dangerous to our country than any external foe.

I still think Bush was the better choice. I don't think he's been in an easy position from his first day in office. I think there has been a really shitty media spin on this whole Iraq thing. I think there has been a really shitty media spin on his speech pattern. Being southern doesn't make him dumb, having an accent doesn't make him dumb, stumbling over his words doesn't make him dumb. If people can get over how he talks and actually listen to what he's saying they'd see that, however the issue is that people don't actually listen to words, they just want someone to sound pretty. I think if anything, the public is dumb and in that respect the entire country is fucked no matter who runs.

the funny thing is that people bitch about him being southern but he's from connecticut :p fraking yanks

edit: and he needs some Namenda or something. he used to be a very eloquent man when running for governor of texas. he's either faking it or going senile

If you take into account inflation, gas prices today still aren't as high as they were during the gas shortages of the 70's.

I mean, sure gas went up in price, but we also got lower interest rates, tax cuts and a bolstered economy due to tax cuts... there was more money in the economy. I think you kids seem to forget that we were in a recession while Clinton was in office.

it's 1.97 at the shell station at 120/45 :D:D:D

democrats always think the economic prosperity of the late 90s was due to clinton as oppossed to the technology boom....which resulted in the massive dot com bust

well...technically I lost a huge business opportunity due to the patriot act but that wasn't solely his fault :p

shhhhh, they want to hear what george did to you personally. Not what happened while he is in office, that would be crazy talk because good old george did nothing to you personally, haha. If he wasnt physically standing in front of you its not his fault:fly:

North on 41, the gas is 1.75 with a carwash, 1.95 without

I remember buying a house in the 90's, I remember running a business in the 90's. I also remember gas shooting up from $.75 a gallon to well over $1.50. This was all before George became president.

He has trampled on many civil liberties but then again numerous presidents have as well. Clinton's AWB and DMCA were direct assaults on the first two amendments. Democrats and Republicans both have the same agenda: bigger government, more control over the populace. There's no shadow conspiracy, it's directly stated every time they suck more money into the federal budget for social services or to protect against terrists.

God I really hope Ron Paul can pick up the GOP nomination but I really really doubt it. :(
