WTF France attacked again

So people who moved from war torn areas to France dozens of years ago are causing all these problems today because they haven't been given everything...

Brexit to control their borders is starting to make a lot more sense.

So when a nation takes in a bunch of refugees, what is that nations responsibility to those refugees? Provide a 100k year job and freedom to trample all over that countries current culture? Imo it's only to provide safety from genocide in their old country and an opportunity to integrate into their new society...

History clearly demonstrates ethnocentric nationalism is not the solution to problems. Irish people in the USA were once perceived as Muslims are now, and clearly that was stupid.

This has all been done before, and the regressives always end up wrong. This is what learning from history means.

Under "X" conditions, "Y" is more likely to happen. If you don't understand it then it is impossible to solve any problem. Humans behave as humans have always behaved. Keeping a population unintegrated and in oppressive, subsidized conditions is not beneficial in any way.

Integration does not mean matching the "norm" as alloying does not mean transmuting all inputs into the the same material.

I've never once read an account of an Irishman blowing up innocents wearing a dynamite vest.
Unless he was so drunk it was an accident.

then you got some reading to do

http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/troubles

besides, he was talking about a time when the irish were oppressed in america which was long before the advent of suicide vets so it's like pointing out that black people weren't committing cyber crimes during segregation

History is a trap for dumbshit ideologies and beliefs. This is why "education" is treated as a slur.

Protip: "common sense" is admitted thoughtlessness.

Yes, and the refugees have responsibilities, too. Work hard, learn the language, let your children learn the ways of your new land.

which isn't all going to happen in a matter of months or even a couple of years

for starters it's difficult for adults to learn new languages, especially languages that have no connection to their native one4

secondly it's not like refugees can just waltz into a job. if there are no jobs for them to have then what are they supposed to work hard at? if they're put into a camp that's miles from any business what kind of jobs are they supposed to get without some kind of public transport to get them to an area with work?

they have some responsibilities but our expectations have to be more reasonable than "here's a tent and a can of beans, now learn the language and make something of yourself!"

Be immigrant/refugee
Be unable to work because you don't yet know the language.
Try to learn language, find out you can't afford any schools because you are poor
Find out state sponsored school is in next town
Find out your town has no cheap mass transit out of town into town that has school.
Try to pay for transit, end up poorer

That's the situation for a lot of people in France right now.
