WTF So I just dick'd my butt

I didn't. This was all their doing. I didn't even expect it. The exact quote was that, Jenn, the COO, said 'Do whatever you can not to lose him'
I'm telling you what the end result could be if you stay. And then they will make you miserable, while the job you accepted in the promise land is long gone. It's unlikely to be worth the risk...

I know. I've got a lot to think about. I'm not decided one way or the other. Just unexpected.

The general rule for me would be: Is the salary increase of a counteroffer and/or resume added value worth 1 year of lost potential someplace else.

also, your boss is likely getting roasted for losing you, and will hold some damaged pride/spite if you go back to working for her

Oh no. That's one of the things they are talking about. They aren't talking about keeping me doing what I'm doing.

We're talking me becoming a director of integration to handle our multi state expansion we're going to start rolling out this fall.

I would essentially become my boss's boss.

It may be too late to find the scuttlebutt, but is that position actually a positive? Or is it something they see that has a potential high risk of failure.

(just playing devils advocate here man)
