OMG! Are people here seriously talking (or fantasizing) about America one day being completely gun free? LOL!!!!!!!!!! You have got to be kidding yourself if you think that will happen.. Any clear minded individual can see that America will always have guns! So talking about a gun free America is completely moot!
Now, facts are, gun control laws increase violent crime.
Australia banned all guns, crime there is through the roof.
NYC, LA, & DC all have gun control laws, and are also the worst violent crime cities.
Come to my neck of the woods and you will not see that much crime at all even though I'm still within the DC metro.

a big thing on 20/20 last week (?) about the ease with which you could buy guns at a gun show, the "gun show loophole". they gave a dude like 5K and he bought assault weapons, glocks, all sorts o' shyt. got em EEEEEEASY.. No ID, no nothin. "got cash?" yep. "here ya go."

This has no relevance to friends being arrested. I'm not some pussy pacifist who is against violence, if it's needed then it's needed. What I don't think is needed is the manufacturing of lumps of metal specifically designed to kill people. That is their purpose, to kill people or animals. I'm against anything that specifically made for murderous purposes. Is that hard to understand for some reason? If you think about the arms trade, children being recruited in Africa as soldiers to kill other children etc. etc. it's really not very nice. I disagree with guns and I seriously disagree with the arms trade in general.
With a legal weapon you can. An unknown person entering the house means your life may be threatened so legally in Florida you can kill them.
In Texas it's anywhere on your property. Step off my lawn, bitch.
If you have a Concealed weapons permit you can protect yourself almost anywhere.

Plus they do a BG check while youre sitting right there.
I bought my hand gun from a guy in a parking lot. He was about the hock it in at a pawn shop. So I swooped in and got it for cheap. Just wrote up a doc stating the sale with identification numbers, all good.
