UFC 91 - COUTURE VS. LESNAR

Lesnar has a lot true real wrestling experience and even the entertainment wrestling experience will help him some. He knows how to keep going through the pain. I'd think some of the submission holds would just be hard as hell to even put on Lesnar because of his size and damn near impossible to hold for long. I'm not a small guy but I have no doubt if I put him in a full Nelson he could just shrug and snap my arms like twigs.

Couture's best bet is to keep him up right as long as possible and to find one body part and pound on it. Like a knee. If you get on the ground with him with out him being weakened then you're going to have real problems controlling him. Though I'm sure Couture is so experienced that he doesn't even think about doing a submission hold but just does it and can change with the situation without any delay. Either way it should be a good fight.

did any of you read the breakdown in the link I posted? couture only has 2 wins by submission and this is not the guy he'll be getting his 3rd on...he wins by ground and pound to which he has no chance against lesnar

I'm giving the edge to Lesnar in this one. I've watched Lesnar's last two UFC fights this last week, he just beat the shit out of Heath Herring and was caught with a submission in his fight w/ Mir. Heath Herring, he just threw around on the ground and kneed the ever living shit out of him.

Oddly enough, I've never watched Couture fight, I only know him by his reputation.

He, Lesnar, is going to be VERY vulnerable to any submission other than a choke. I don't see anybody getting and keeping an arm around that huge neck of his.

If Couture ends up on his back, he is going to get hurt. Go back and watch the Lesnar/Herring fight. Once Lesnar has you down he has the strength and agility to keep you down. The one major thing he, Lesnar, is missing is the ability to finish an opponent as illustrated in the Herring fight. If Couture can keep alive past the first two rounds, he has a better than even chance to win it by submission after that.

Here's my call - Lesnar in 2nd TKO.

Lesnar has two wins, period. Lesnar has poor BJJ defense, so the submission advantage definitely goes to Couture. Lesnar's chin is untested so far also.
Yes Lesnar is an NCAA champion wrestler, but Couture is a multi time US Olympic alternate, so Couture can wrestle very well also. I think it's ludicrous to suggest that Couture has no chance to gnp. It's not likely, but Couture has more weapons. Lesnar also has yet to finish a fight, he just laid on Herring for 3 rounds, not knowing what to do.

at 50lbs of muscle lighter, couture is going to get bucked on his face like he was kicked by a donkey if he tries to get on top of lesnar

1 highlight real. Let's compare Coutures vs. Lesnar. Experience matters, size plays a part but i don't think it'll be enough.

We shall see, i bet all my marklar on it

lesnar is fucking enormous, fast, strong as a bull, and he's going to kill couture
I have to figure out where I can watch it...none of my places downstairs do ufc ppv

ground game wins the fight - Brock can't handle Randy on the ground

I don't think the skill differential is greater than the strength differential...one thing's for sure, it is going to be awesome to see regardless of who wins
