i doubt it. i don't know how you could even conduct such a study. more likely they looked at what limit would allow people to have two drinks at the bar after work and still drive home legally.

Eh, that wasn't really my point anyway. My point was that just because there is a legal limit doesn't mean it is entirely safe to do it. The masses clamor for a way to have some drinks but still drive home, so they provide it.

After having/using a tester frequently I was very surprised to see how quickly you can reach .08 and how much of a difference it is if you just wait 30 minutes

But they do keep it on hand for alcoholics at my moms hospital. Not sure what the nation standard is but I know of at least 3 in the area that do.
