If you were watching Heroes last night...

Speaking of ... here's something to chew on regarding Peter and Sylar.

Remember when Peter was hanging out with the invisible man and we were essentially told that Peter wasn't the first that came to him looking for help controlling powers? What if that first person was Sylar? Sylar's ability to see people as machines and extract their power is somewhat similar to Peter's ability to mimic them. Maybe that's what the invisible man was talking about...

but wouldn't sylar have just killed dr who for his powers? I mean that's pretty handy..

That is the only catch, isn't it? My only thought there is perhaps Sylar realized he needed him, kept him alive, but he escaped before it was too late? Who knows. I just thought it interesting that he mentioned "another".

No, there is another catch. Sylar wouldn't have been able to see the guy. Sylar can take powers from people, but he doesn't automatically get them. That seems to be restricted to Peter. (This also ups the Dr's powers to 2. To be invisible and to see the invisible.)

well I don't see that as two different powers depending on how it's working...I'm thinking it's like the common theory about how vampires can go invisible and not have reflections. they simply have a power over the minds of others that keeps anyone from recognizing his presence

this could possibly be debunked if they show some kind of video footage with him not showing up where he's supposed to be :o

Just because I want to get all nerdy on you, I don't follow the vampire example. Unless, of course, when they go visible they are also allowing people to see their reflection. More than that, wouldn't that mean that vampires could see the reflection of other vampires?

And I would think this invisibility would have to be enough to keep video survelance off of him. Otherwise there would be a rash of "Keep an eye for this guy" posters all of the place with his face on it.

On the first part, exactly. They're unseen when they want to be unseen. They always have a reflection but even they don't see it because whatever's causing the vampirism subconsiously clouds their own mind as well as the ones around.

I get all my vampire information from Wm. Mark Simmons :(

I'm thinking he's just kept a pretty low profile, figured out how to control. Maybe he's had his power for a lot longer, since he was Mica's age. Then again maybe he has no idea how to be visible again and is always unseen.

So they cloud their own minds? :) That is pretty funny.

And I believe he had a quote in the show that made it sound like he is always invisible. Something to the affect (effect?) of "Their is no controlling what I have. If you have it, you just wake up invisible."

No

I think it is simple as either niki and Micha's dad both had the trait for the power and were simply passing it on to thier offspring.

the super powers are genetic but random as to the exact nature.

if that's the case then what are the chances they would meet? maybe those with the genes are inclined to find each other and have stronger connections than they would with normal folk

maybe the psychic cop's wife will have a power

the virus that causes vampirism does it :p that's the school of thought I cling to :D

yea I was thinking the same, he probably can't undo it

but if so why the hell was he stealing money? would you need to be visible to use cash? or maybe he's just depositing into his ATM and paying rent online :fly:

They have already pointed that out in the show

Maybe he was talking about the Hatian, or Wireless? It could even be a hero we haven't seen yet.

It would almost have to be someone we haven't seen, yet. As it is, nobody has the power to see the guy, yet. Just "being special" isn't enough, as Nathan was unable to see him.
