Haven't watched the video, but I have made Ho Chi Minh sandals before. Need to make some more, they're very durable, if not a little more involved with the advent of steel belted radials.

We have plenty of old tires laying around the shop too.Perfect for OOD on his landscaping job.
For real might rip that one to an mp3Watched the video. Gonna do it again just for the soundtrack.
Most of the major companies still make a non-steel bias tire. Vintage look, often WW, narrow tread. You can still find old bias ply tires to do it like that guy did, they're just not on cars. They're on things like garden tractors, the carts you pull behind them, moving dollies, wheelbarrows, probably atv's, etc. I don't know about road motorcycles but probably dirtbikes.
Basically stuff that moves slow or doesn't have to meet road transportation/safety/performance stuff.
Totally agree on the heaviness. Damn those would suck while driving a car.Tire sandals sound really heavy.
I kick started Wiivv Sandals a few years ago. They're awesome. I'll totally buy another pair when these bite the dust.
Part of the bindings job is to seal off the end grain of the fretboard. Possible you let the instrument get too dried out? You should get it re-bound.That SX sixer I have: pretty much all of the frets have cracked the neck binding, think the neck wood wasn't fully seasoned or something.
So I need to moisturize my bass now? It's a solid maple board/neck AFAIK.Part of the bindings job is to seal off the end grain of the fretboard. Possible you let the instrument get too dried out? You should get it re-bound.
Well, did you leave it in a car trunk in the summer? Do you leave it on a stand over a heating vent? Did you use a Lysol Wipe on it? idk.So I need to moisturize my bass now? It's a solid maple board/neck AFAIK.
Yeah I figured it was from being like 2ft from a vent.Well, did you leave it in a car trunk in the summer? Do you leave it on a stand over a heating vent? Did you use a Lysol Wipe on it? idk.
It was always intended as a project of sorts. Not gonna find a maple-boarded 6 with decent string spacing for anywhere near the price, even with a rebind. Those SX were all the rage and super cheap for a reason. The ones before Fender made them change the headstock got a lot of love but I could never bring myself to pull the trigger. I had a few cheap Ibanez and Peavey bar beaters at the time so I didn't need one.
...
Just remembering out loud.
