Advice Time to ditch cable

Which extensions? I need to implement something before we move and have a real isp.

depends what you want to do. Auto-grab stuff, or just rename/move once ya get it?

Couchpotato 2.6.x for the latter (dont get teh 3.0 version it sucks).

@fly can speak better to auto-grabbing.

I still use SABNZBD. I rarely even look at it, since everything auto-downloads. The only time I do is to occasionally clear out dupes. For TV, I use SickRage, but have been hearing some awesome things about SONAR. And for movies I use Couchpotato (the latest version).

It's quite a difference actually. I don't go to youtube to watch Movies or TV shows, and Netflix may not have all available seasons/episodes available. Just like plex. I, the user, am pretty much limited to the availability of shows/movies that the host limits me to.
They're both means of transmitting video over the internet. Whether you watch "TV" on the "youfacetubeflix" or not is pretty immaterial to the discussion.

back in the day when everyone loved torrents and I was all "nope, usenet is the way to go" and things were awesome, now everyone's creaming over usenet and I've moved to a seedbox

recommend the roku over the chromecast. much as I love using the chromecast the ability to control the apps is often dependent on how well your device handles communication with it. sometimes it'll drop the signal yet the show keeps playing and you have to kill the plex app to get it back. roku is a lot smoother

I need to hire some kid to organize my media server and get rid of all the low quality rips

to be fair, usenet used to be an enormous pain in the ass. i used it briefly when you had to manually download each message attachment. It was not worth the time.

Also... it costs money. When you can get shit for free, why would you pay
