Workout Check-in

I'm taking sometime off to get my asthma under control and let some aches and pains heal up. I'm starting to psyche myself up to change diet and hit the gym with a vengeance.

I just want to be in this type of shape when I turn 40. Luckily I have 8 years.

A typical person doesn't need to workout a muscle group more than once a week. Once you have at least a year or so in the gym you can push harder and see gains. Of course there are a few muscles that are exceptions but overall that should be the rule for beginners doing decent workouts. Too many people overtrain.
