I just finished all 7 seasons of TNG and enjoyed them.

I enjoy them a lot more toward the end but that first season can be hard to watch for some. They were still getting their footing, hadn't really figured out who the characters were, Picard was a huge stick in the mud. But it gave them a lot of room to grow and eventually the show grew a beard.
