yeah, opensprinkler works into openhab2 for me really well for that.Use this an excuse to tie your whole water and irrigation system into HA
I have all 8 zones, and 4 hose bibs completely controllable, as well as the whole house shutoff, and an emergency well shutoff
I like the calendar/adjustment stuff indigenous to the OS box better though, so I generally just use that.

If you're concerned about water being on all the time, go get a windshield washer setup from a car in the junkyard. Fill a jug with whatever you wanna spray, run 12V to it.
