@OOD the EADG strings are Thomastik Acoustacore. They are phosphor roundwounds with a nylon core.
The reason I don't have a Thomastik B Is quite simply... THOMASTIK CHARGES AROUND $125 FOR A 5 STRING SET...
I bought the 4 string set for well under $50.
Those guys have huge balls!

So here's a review of the GHS Phosphor Bronze Pressure Wound .120.
It's bitchin!
I'm thinking a .130 is just too wide for an ABG. This new B sounds good acoustically and also plugged in.

I've tried preasurewound strings before on an ABG and the winding seems to suppress the noisy-ness.

Your audience is sure going to appreciate your efforts, Nukes.

I think the scraping sounds so bad because it is micro-flexing the bridge as the scraping pulls on the string lengthwise. Flexing/vibration of the bridge is the only way an acoustic picks up sound, while your SEB makes sound from the strings vibrating in front of the pickup. The scraping doesn't move the strings much in relation to the magnetic fields of a pickup. :iono:
THis guy is da smarts .
