Paying off mortgage is a good idea if your rate is > return on invesment and you are still making interest payments. Since the risk free rate is like, 1%, it's probably good idea.
At first I was like "What a douchebag." then I was like "This guy is pretty alright."
A lot of the IT people are getting a pool together except none of the bosses are allowed in. I'd love for us to win so we all could quit at the same time.
Yeah, just saw that on the Today show. Dude is the shit.
edit: The bigger question is why he has that car and lives in that house.
Yeah, in Owings Mills no less. It's a crappy town that's been going downhill. My guess is that he just doesn't feel like he needs more space. If I were to be rich I wouldn't live in a huge friggin mansion either. It's so wasteful. Just the heating and cooling alone would be astronomical and really, who needs that much space? I would, however, own a Lamborghini, because it has always been the car of my dreams and that's how I like to waste. To each their own I guess. In the article about the guy they talk about the fact that he is having a custom made Batmobile made for him but it isn't ready yet. I hope I meet the guy some day. Maybe one of the cancer organizations I work for can invite him to one of our functions as an honoree or something.
I don't buy into the whole 'old people' thing. I price everything like I'm a perpetuity.
Which I will be.
Forever and ever.
I don't get the whole mansion thing. Too big, there's only so many rooms you need plus if you run out of money and can't sustain it what was the point? Best to get a smaller house, pay the bills with any interest in the bank or whatever.

More rooms is fun.
Meh, I don't see the point. Dining room, living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms and an office. Maybe two spare rooms for whatever.
You just listed off like 10+ rooms.
Aren't you squatting in an office building or warehouse?
Then you start to think things like, well gee, my living room is too cluttered, I need a separate exercise room, have children and guests? Need yet another room for an office then.
Potato peeling room, basket weaving room, room for the dogs, donut room, larder, pantry #3 - 5 (Since any normal house would have at least two) Man, we're gonna need more land.
I believe that's called an 'aquarium'Maybe a fishtank room. Where all the walls and ceiling are just one giant fish tank.
