So I just got a new laptop

Mingle, I suggest taking it back if you still can and have Zac help you pick out a new one if he doesnt mind. Buying a computer from Best Buy = buying a car after having a repo, you will never get a "great deal".

I lucked out on my last computer purchase because some other persons mistake otherwise I would have had Zac help me build one.

When you start to see major performance loss either reload the OS and start fresh or think about upgrading RAM. Usually it's a cheap way to see a difference.

you can't "build" a laptop can you??? cause i was gonna have dj rose do that (a programmer for prog. energy as well as fly dj) and he said he couldn't.

No, but you could have taken that $319 one from BB and used that as a "base". Add RAM sticks and 320gb Toshy hd and you are flying high. Of course that's not the same as building one from scratch, but it is akin to getting Dell server from Small Business and putting in a 8800GT nVidia card for a gaming PC.

Not that Mixx new about anything I just mentioned in the text above :fly:

Download, install, and run the advisor tool. Then copy/paste the results here. Then we can tell ya what you should have in your laptop.

I would agree with above, that yes, you should have more than 1gb of RAM. Besides, (most likely) your laptop takes DDR2 memory which is so damn cheap now. Less than $50 for another stick of 1gb of memory. Plus on a laptop, memory is wicked easy to install.

He probably has Windows XP and not Windows Vista on his, I'd guess. But have you tried it out? If you got issues, we can prolly fix it real cheaply. You can double the RAM for less than $100, iirc.
