What sucks is that at this point I have to upgrade all the RAM as well, cause it's DDR3. Basically doubles the cost of the upgrade.

Do you have open slots or are they all full and you need to go from 4GB sticks to 8gb sticks?

Xeon v2s have have tdp's as low as 70 Watts, that's much lower than a ryzen
