Thread So How was your Weekend??

Friday (yeah not weekend yet but relevant keep reading), for some strange reason, I was really really hungry all day. I woke up in the morning around 7am and had two huge bowls of cereal. Then around 11am I was starving again, but fought off the hunger pangs until noontime and had Subway. Then around 4pm I was starving again, so I had a yogurt to sort of hold me over until dinner. Huge dinner, then huge snack at 11 or so.

Saturday I paid for it and was in pain immediately after having a bowl of cereal. Felt like someone stabbed me in the lower part of my stomach. All Saturday and Sunday I was in pain. Pepto wasn't helping either. Thankfully today I'm feeling a bit better. I was thinking either gallbladder or appendix, but pain appears to have gone away. I had waffles this morning instead of cereal just incase it was milk or something irritating my stomach.

Yesterday I met with a friend of mine and his fiance and had dinner with them before he ships out to Afghanistan in a week for between 12 to 15 month deployment. Sucks....

That's because

a) people in Scandinavia have maxed out their debt in order to offset crippling tax rates, meaning they can no longer afford guns and gun licenses, and
b) they have become disuaded by foreigners' blank faces in response to demands of "bork bork bork"

But hey, free healthcare and mega-fast internet, so they're good, right?

It was apparently hotter than Hawaii in England last weekend. I spent most my time indoors though which was a shame, somebody had to take one for the team and stay at home so me and the man did the honours.

We finished off painting/polyfillering/sanding down etc. the new bedroom which wsa finally done yesterday. Also read Othello and had some really good chats with the new people that I live with which was nice. This weekend we're going camping for 4 days so fingers crossed the weather is good. Will be nice to get away from the city for a little while.

Well before is just an empty space with nothing in it. I showed you the frame going up but I've been taking pics at various stages so will upload once I've charged my camera and can get round DJB's to utilise his internet.

It's pretty big actually, very proud of what he's done. It's 7ft tall and 17 x 18ft for the main space with another room at the side that is just a little larger than a double bed (bedroom area segregated by some curtains I made). We put wood paneling round the main living space up to about 3.5ft and the rest is plasterboard which I've painted a very nice shade of pink. Also got to put up some misfits wallpaper in strips to break up the pink-ness of it. Almost got to lay down the carpet (hopefully today), some tiles, a bit of lino in the corner of the room and also he's making a raised area for the fireplace.

All very exciting. Guess not many people have the opportunity to think of building a living space and seeing it through from the first plank to completion. :D :)

Sounds nice. It's just odd to me that no one kicks you guys out... I know you're keeping up the place, but gosh, here you would get kicked out and probably sued and stuff.

Supposedly people have spoken to the owner (people have been there over a year) and he's some religious nut who brought the place abot 10 years ago because 'God told him to' and he's never done anything with it. *shrug* Don't think he cares in the slightest.

twas a long weekend here, yay! It was beautiful out, around 90F all weekend. Had to work on Saturday and roll out a new websense deployment, but it went super well, then had a barbeque with a bunch of friends and their kids yesterday afternoon at out place. lots of fun.

Could say the same about America. *cough*guns*cough*

Personally I just choose to accept cultural difference instead of hating on it most the time. ;)

Where was what I was saying 'hating' on the place. Please check your oversensitivity at the door.

those kinds of weekends are always good weekends.

Directv uses contractors so that's probably where the problem is. Some of them are good and show up or call if appointment cannot be made. Others suck and don't show up. Dharma's advise is solid. DTV usually works with its customers on these types of issues.
