They are recognizing a relationship and benefits that depend on that relationship and that relationship is not a joining because of marriage. That's what's wrong.

I am tired of the inconsistency. Either acknowledge homosexuals don't exist and forgo all rights and privileges or acknowledge they are legal citizens, too, and give them all rights and privileges they are paying taxes for. This half-assed wishy washy rulings that seem to be just peacemeal are fucking weak and pathetic.

I am already dating a man that is into beers to an unhealthy level (with the waistline to prove it).

But then I would have to acknowledge a homosexual relationship and I might either pay my taxes and he can see me in the hospital ONLY or get lynched.

Really man? You REALLY expect things to move that fast or is it really just about justifying your constant unhappiness? Are you familiar with US history at all? Any idea how long the women's right movement took (and is STILL taking)? Or how about the rights of slaves? Shit doesn't happen overnight.

Either we are legal citizens and human beings capable of thought and not hurting others (therefore entitled to whatever rights the various constitutions give) or we aren't. Fairly black or white to me. No other group has some rights given and others not like homosexuals (anymore).
