Dumbazz Slang

".... you know what I'm saying?"

Yes, I know what you are saying, because you just said it. Wow!

edit: (as george carlin said in one of his routines) ".... I heard that!"
Yes, of course you heard that, because I'm standing right next to you. I'm going to move over here....

i do that, but I like to use "ya dig?" which is much shorter and more efficient.
occasionally i'll use "ya smell me?"

Don't forget "all y'all," which is used when addressing groups of more than three.

Im guilty of that one, myself.

I also use the "you know what Im sayin'?" thing. But bear in mind that I work in a machine shop and sometimes all you get back as a response to instructions is a grunt, so I often have to reaffirm that Ive been understood.

I can attest to this one. You have to do it cause some monkey will cut his tool box in half with little more response than, "I thought you said to."

"You have to understand..."

I don't have to do anything.

"NOO-cue-lar missile," George W. Bush

If you have the power to use something you should at least be able to pronounce it.

I'm with Sarcasmo on the "could care less"...grrr

I also hate "ummm"

We are trying to ween off "it is what it is" as well.

imagine working in a place where 50% of the population uses past participle for ANYTHING that happened in the past.

"well, we had went to lunch and tommy had hit me and then i had threw my milk at him."

i'ma big fan of "it is what it is" just cause people still don't get so many concepts, I had had to reiterate.

"I'm gonna be honest with you"

No you aren't .. no one is ever "honest" with you when this spills from their mouth.

"I hear what your saying"

No you don't, 9 times out of 10 if you ask someone to repeat 1/2 of what you said back 10 minutes later .. they won't have a CLUE what you were talking about.

Although .. neither of these are probably considered slang though.

and in the same vein, "with all due respect..." whatever comes next is NOT going to be very respectful.
