WTF So I just dick'd my butt

its our once every 3 years storm. Got about 10-11 inches here near annapolis. Just got in from shoveling
hey I live near the naval academy! I work in Pasadena though. My bosses house is in Arnold. So I drove ALL THE WAY up Veterans Highway then across Glen Dirty then ALL the way down Rt 2. It's actually kinda a miracle I made it. On Veterans some lady got stuck in the middle lanes and was holding up miles of traffic. I tried to help and push. Only me and an Amazon driver got out to help. It was stupid.

Got a number from a cute jogger in Arnold tho.

Annapolis proper is still a shitshow, none of the roads are plowed except the county ones.

Yeah, I just stayed off the roads today. Had to clear the drive and cars though cause our heat was out and the truck needed to come.

yeah I don't miss this. I lived right around the corner from the hospital in Annapolis/Parole, but I went to school in Arnold & then Towson, and like @Domon said it would be fine most of the time but then every few years all hell breaks loose lol

Meh it happened when I moved here in 2017. They still plowed eventually. I live way on the end of Eastport on the water and it's basically inaccessible.

You're all free to go work for yourself you know. Skip the employer employee shit show, take your talents, and run with them.
Please work for yourself, then build enough to where you have to actually hire people too, then keep all that running to where some folks who measure their worth by the hour with zero risk start telling you how rough they have it.
Please do that for 36 months then get back to me with your opinions on "rich business owners" and "stolen labor".

Please do. This should be fun.

Well shit, we had lunch near the naval academy about two months ago.

Homeless shelter is for people without cars.

We had a homeless gentleman around here (work) who had a bike with a trailer/wagon. Had all his possessions in it. He peddled all over the city but said the most giving people were around here.
You couldn't tell just by looking at him he was homeless.
Then his bike got stolen. Told us it was the worse day of his life. Suddenly he looked the part.
Someone beat us to buying him a new bike but he still doesn't look as happy as he used too.

So when you're homeless there are two ish classes.

There are the people who live in cars/bikes etc who work a full time job and hit the gym or their friend's houses etc. Got your shit together but stuff isnt working out.

Then there are the addicts who sleep on the street, dont try and ask people for change.

It sucks but it is what it is. You have to put in the minimum effort and not be a dirtbag and it gets better.

Yep, we definitely have both classes here.
And a third. Mentally ill (without drug addiction) or medication, help or support. Unfortunately.

It bears mentioning this is almost uniquely an american phenom.

I've been places. They all have problems. There arent many other places where you can work 84 hours a week at a legit suit and tie job and still have to sleep in your car.

And mental health is treated as a joke in this country. When I was growing up it seemed like it was something to be ashamed of and hidden away.

Oh yeah. My doctor, bless her pakistani heart, does the suicide screening everytime I come in and if I wasn't so removed from actual reality Id probably find it funny.

Mental health is not in the cards. Id be horrified if I had a legit psychriactric condition.
