I agree. I was just being an a******.While I gravied that, I understand that today's economy and job market makes it hard to get that running start you need to build from. Hoggs always sounded like a fairly industrious guy for his age bracket, to me. It take time to build up a resume - some just pass the time, others fill it with stuff they can reference as a value add for life and/or employment.
This is probably just intelligence privilege, but I've also noticed there is no correlation between age and awareness. You haven't been around long enough to notice shit.
have you? have you recognized that based on the large number of successful people you personally know who started out in poverty and dragged themselves out? or is it the American Dream bedtime story you tell yourself that conveniently ignores the confirmation bias required to ignore the overwhelming majority of hardworking people who will never escape poverty regardless of who they blame? is it that it's easier to believe in a just world of equal opportunity and access than to admit that we live in a plutocracy, or do you just genuinely have a preference between the sweetness of Kiwi and the creamy tang of Lincoln Wax?I've recognized this common thread amongst successful people and it is that they stopped blaming everything else for their lot in life and decided to do something about it themselves.
Am I missing the irony of the young'ns pre-empting with 'it's uphill both ways to life!!'
Is that why you're so successful?I've recognized this common thread amongst successful people and it is that they stopped blaming everything else for their lot in life and decided to do something about it themselves.
He's got a wife and grandkids and step kids and enough money to drink and get high every night and he lives indoors and he eats three times a day. How do you measure success? Cuz that seems pretty successful to me.Is that why you're so successful?
Worked for me.Yes!
Right? Today it seems that kids are raised to measure their happiness by external quantifiers to establish victim-hood and worthiness. Their view of people who are generally happy is that they must be ignoring reality. He's got a wife and grandkids and step kids and enough money to drink and get high every night and he lives indoors and he eats three times a day. You voted for a reality tv star.Right? Today it seems that kids are raised to measure their happiness by external quantifiers to establish victim-hood and worthiness. Their view of people who are generally happy is that they must be ignoring reality.
I also think increased screen time away from work decreases non-screen time overall happiness.
Maybe hips but not me - not in a million years. Lifelong dem/independant voter. You voted for a reality tv star.
We need to talk about how all this screen time effects the olds, the kids are alright.
