Food The Vagatarian Thread

UNless it's fiber, all carbs are sugar once they hit your stomach. Don't kid yourself. You ain't kidding a geezer who got right to the edge of pre-beetus before calling a halt to that shit!
Table sugar is not the same as fruit. You're ignoring the nutrition that comes from the fruit. Sugar is sugar but the extra vitamins and minerals that come from the complex carb is what makes it healthy. You would die without sugar btw.

We weren't talking vitamins and minerals, we were talking carbs. Problem with fruit is the really high carb level in ratio to the vitamin/mineral levels. Most vegetables are much better for you, with lower carbs and higher vitamin/mineral levels. Human's have historically not had access to anywhere near the amount of fruit we get today, super cheap. Ditto with grain (more freakin carb).
You do not need any "sugar"(if you just say carb it is a lot simpler) per se, and you CAN live without carbs for your calories - it's just really difficult to avoid them. Most people get way too many.

You're being deliberately obtuse. Have fun with that. I'm not interested.

Yeah I saw that. I have a good friend who has decided to cut back on her meat after seeing this. I expect they will be over for dinner more often. They love our lentil tacos. She's gluten intolerant too, so this will make for a fun challenge.

lots of root veggies and rice n beans I'm guessing.

Lots of cats and dogs were rescued after the 'caine: probs not in the millions like the dead trapped farmed animals, though

You get all the sugar you need just from eating regular food. Half this country's problem is refined sugar and stuff like HFCS and other sweeteners put in everything. They breed and GMO out new strains that up the content as well before it even gets any added. Apples that have more sugar than they ever used to, grapefruits that aren't even the least bit sour/bitter, etc.

I ate a brownie today. I'm probably going to die from a sugar overdose.

The veggies are sweeter because of human tampering too. Carrots used to be a sad little root. A lot of them have way more of the good nutrition than they used to. There's some kind of golden rice that has been engineered to have more nutrients, to try and battle famine in poor countries.
