Halp Android devices

then I'd say it's a men's watch for sure. the bracelet and bezel are chunkier than a women's style would have, even for the same case diameter. 37-39mm watches were very popular for men pre-2000. still are for classier applications.

always trust the man with the smallest watch the most with your money.
ill have to give it a measure, im actually not sure what size it is. And i cant find much about the brand (Laurens/Lorenz) online. Seems to be confined to italy for the most part.

While it doesn't *really* matter, I'm shocked by the lack of custom ROMs for the Pixel and now the Pixel 2. Apparently, their A/B partition thing makes things super complicated. :(

I would imagine theyre gonna get the Android subsystem thing that makes roms super easy.

also, USB-C is kind a bitch. Its nice, but there is so so much noncompliant shit out there. LIke 90% of all the cables are bad, and most chargers too.

I haven't been in the loop with custom ROMs since the late 2000. What's the appeal with them these days? What do they offer that warrants rooting, and installing, and possible feature loss? I understand that some ROMs will help and old device by having a ROM with the bear essentials. But for your current phone, I just don't see the point.

your manufacturer screwing you over and not giving you device updates is the main drivers.

this is exactly why I'm looking into them for the few months while I save up for a new phone. my G4 is still running 6.0 and LG is showing no signs of pushing any updates through anytime soon. to the point where my apps can't even update anymore since the app versions have stopped supporting marshmallow. garbage.

OP5T incoming.

I'm not sure if I'm alone in this thinking but I really don't care about android updates all that much. Well, not enough to go through rooting and installing a ROM.

i was wonderfully happy with my oneplus one. Hell, if it hadnt died on me (my own fault), id still be running it. I see very negligible differences between it and the 6p

these days its matters much less. Back in the 3.0-4.0-5.0 days there were massive differences between versions.

I'm getting old :( Used to be i could repair near anything with absolutely confidence. I tried to swap the battery on my Nexus 6P and shattered the LCD. Phone is toast. I accidentally got the spudger at the wrong angle and pried on the screen, rather than the clips when trying to separate it from the case.

I'm taking this an an opportunity to back off from technology for a while. I havent had a desktop computer in 6 months or so, and now no phone either. Gonna keep it that way for financial reasons.

Is the screen that hard to replace, or are you just giving up?
