I've had three Mac laptops over the past two decades. None of the slot load optical drives ever broke or had issues.
Well aren't you a special snowflake.

Couldn't they get some car stereo maker to make the damn Apple slot loading drives.

CDs get loaded in and out of CD players all the time with fingers covered in takeout grease and weed resin, in dirty ass cars that never get cleaned... but rarely ever fail. Whoever engineers those CD mechanisms are gods.
Mine failed after 8 years in my truck. 8 fucking years of dirt roads, dust, and semi-hellish conditions.

If I fucked up the Windows partition on a UEFI machine while installing Linux, will it automagically fix itself if I uninstall Linux?

Had an issue with my ATSC modulator. Picture was breaking up bad. Turns out the coax output jack ground had come loose because they used one thats cheap as fuck and didn't add a lock nut to secure it to the chassis.

So I added the lock nut, now it's all better and ready for SPORTSBALL!
