I'm sure @Maureen knows some people that can make your deadbeat customer an offer they can't refuse.Four years into running a business and now, for the first time, I have a client who doesn't want to pay their bill. This is someone I've been working with since almost the beginning, but they are having money troubles so they can't pay their $1825.00 bill. That's a lot of stray cat food he's pulling off my table.
Anyways, not sure what to do just yet. Offered to setup a payment plan (it's not a large amount, wtf dude). If he declines... perhaps collections, but doubt that's worth it... hmpf.
@Josh what's your preferred method of strong arming people to pay their bill?
He prefers to bank transfer to me even tho my invoices have the option to pay by credit. You can also attempt to "transfer" the debt load back to them. Arrange to take a credit card payment, and then you get paid, and the CC company will have the problem.
Often not worth it.Small claims court?
Was this a project? For future billing, try to do 3 payments: 1 to start project, 1 on middle, 1 on delivery. It was some hourly work for web design stuff.
Was worried you'd say that... Poop.
Nope, it was just on-going work as he needed it on an hourly basis. I bill once a month for this kind of stuff and since he was an established client who used to pay his bills, I didn't mind doing it this way.Was this a project? Ugh, he lives in the midwest, no thanks. lolGo leave a fresh hot poop on his front door.

It's a whole website (plus a few others) and it would bring down his business. That would be a no-no.CAn't you just remove your work from his site, or is that considered a business faux poo?
You probably live down the street from him, actually.[GIPHY="I volunteer as tribute"]https://media0.giphy.com/media/54JLdulN5BOwM/giphy.gif[/GIPHY]
