Ontopic Random Computer-Electronics Thread

USPS just emailed me with this:

Thats pretty amazing. They scan every letter anyway (which they only started doing in 2014 by the way, with a custom built HPC (high performance computer), so why not make use of that data.

I bet this will be great for cutting down on mail theft too.
That's funny, because it doesn't take much in the way of computing to adequately identify handwritten addresses.

Subsets of it are actually student problems in textbooks (at least they were way back in 2009-2013, when I was in school).

HP makes extremely questionable decisions. This lends more and more the theory that they dont have working memristors at all for the Machine, and are just buying up flash, hoping people wont care.

Started a 14hr render as I left work yesterday
Came in this morning to find the program crashed after 4hrs
:waw:
Z18 again?

I need to reprint my controller board case. I tried to snap the hinge together and one of the tension pieces broke. Doesn't lay flat on any of the printers available to me, so it has to stand up at an angle. Takes 11-15 hours depending on the settings.

Probably going to redesign it, maybe so I use a spring instead of a tensioning piece.
