I see how you might think that. people care about lots of things, and have for as long as time. what people care about, especially as a collective, oftrn changes over time. people certainly care more about this particular topic than they have in the past, not least of which is because it's only in recent years that people of color have started to approach anything close to equity. in the not too distant past, society thought nothing of ignoring even survival concerns if the concerns were in regards to people of color. sundown towns still existwatch:
I know it's not the argument you're making, but it comes across kind of like someone is trying to validate caring superiority now compared to the past.
I recognize that you can't judge the past by the morals of today, but that doesn't mean we can't strive to continue to be better.
