Birdperson shakes his head and looks ashamed. He comments, perhaps the loss of a few will prevent the loss of many if we are able to terminate the infection at its source.

The party rides west after a small meal, wearing their facemasks until safety is assured, and the risk is cleared. Within the day, the Tower of Arbaghast has been reached, and its foreboding front door, previously unlocked by Eloyn Larkspur during her quest of worth, stands before you. The door is shut, and does not budge when shaken. It would appear that Eloyn relocked it upon returning to the city.

As Afram waits for the decision of the others, he delicately places his magical coin into a slot on his clockwork hand, screws all the access panels down and sets the hand upright.

Reaching inside he flips the gimbal the coin is mounted on, setting it spinning. A pair of lodestones set up to permanently repel each other when the coin is heads up keeps the coin constantly spinning and giving it power.

The clockwork creation stands up and balances on alternating fingers.

Afram can be heard to mutter "now, if I could only make it intelligent..."

Afram, disturbed by the locked door asks the party when Eloyn left. "She travelled ahead of you to prepare, did she not?"

The birdman replies.... She did. It appears she has not yet arrived, that is concerning as she had a 2 day headstart.

She informed me before she set out that she was taking the straight road. The same road you all took.

Would the party like to look for clues? Or attempt to open the door themselves.

Both Sister Margaret and Afram survey the area around the tower entrance. Afram looks to the ground, looking for dropped items, and does not see much. He inspects the local shrubberies, and looks for signs of passage. There is no clear clues, but there is some freshly broken branches, and what looks like scattered leaves on the ground of a different color.
