Holy shit, glad he's okay. <3Looks like he got lucky. Mild break of the collar bone, no serious head injury. His bike is now banana shaped, though.

I mean, we've already got college covered, so...This guy's a thinker!
Tell him to pick a much fancier car to run in front of next time.I wish my kid was as smart as Jean Ralphio, but he got hit by a Kia, not a Lexus.
Spot on. I never considered it before, but Jehannum is the only redneck scientist I've ever heard of.Or buy 5-6 non functioning German automobiles
Apparently this is a common enough problem that attorneys specialize in itWell that's fun. The kid was delivering for grubhub when he ran my son over. Now Progressive says they don't cover that activity.
I wonder if Grubhub covers their drivers, or if I magically get to pay for all of his treatment now on my own.
It sounds negligent of them to not ensure their I dependant contractors are adequately insuredGrubHub says they rely on their independent contractors to carry adequate insurance.

Yeah.
His helmet is the MVP today. It's in pretty grim condition.
They're X-raying his right collar bone and left leg now, and the plan is to observe him for a while for the head injury. They don't want to CT a 16y/o, I guess.
Agreed. There's a real class action suit brewing if neither the insurer of the vehicle nor the "technology company" will cover the liability. I'm thinking (based on the history of Uber-like companies) that if the driver was both on app AND delivering for GrubHub, then GrubHub is on the hook for the liability of one of their contractors hitting Jehannun Jr during the course of his on app task.It sounds negligent of them to not ensure their I dependant contractors are adequately insured
Any updates on this? I'm interested in how it turns out.Well that's fun. The kid was delivering for grubhub when he ran my son over. Now Progressive says they don't cover that activity.

On the advice of my attorney, I went ahead and filed against my own uninsured motorist coverage.Any updates on this? I'm interested in how it turns out.
Will they go after him?On the advice of my attorney, I went ahead and filed against my own uninsured motorist coverage.
They're taking care of it. I submitted my kid's first medical bill on Tuesday, and they're now waiting on me to submit my ACH info.
