someone mentioned the triangle shirtwaist factory fire, maybe here? and that was part of what kicked off that thought spiral, but then I got distracted by other stuff and forgot to say it lol
Immi did, in response to my post by that guy saying that he was going to gut OSHA.
Funniest bit about that? The guy is paralyzed below the waist. OSHA is largely responsible for all ADA enforcement in the country.

not cyber, although thats an element. Psychological warfare. Theyre getting us to tear our own country apart from within, all on our own.
True.
I guess I just consider all the Twitter rages and "fake news" and Facebook conspiracies and things as part of "cyber".
It's not putting a virus in a power plant but it is using the "digital" mass communication (tracking, feeding content, etc.) as a weapon of sorts.

and you're not wrong to, since a lot of those are kickstarted or amplified by russian troll farms.

I'm going to assume we have troll farms fucking with other people. If we don't we should but I bet we do, I just have no idea how effective they are.

We've had some form of "troll farms" for far longer than any of us have been alive, just talking about the modern internet age.

Whatever anyone thinks about Russia they did foresee the way of the future and get on top of it.
I'd like to think we did too but that's stuff the general public just will not know, whether we're on par, more advanced in some ways, not others, or all the ways, or behind the curve.
Talking with Afghan and Iraq vets I know we have amazing capabilities in that sort of thing, I just hope there's a bunch of really smart people somewhere making really good use of it and not being hamstrung by the politics du jour.

It's the same thing as black folk being wheeled out to talk about how actually black people should be oppressed.

ehhh, russia seems to have done an amazing job at scenario 2 in a scant 8 years.

Putin was actually PTSDd by the wall coming down, and I’m not joking when I say that. It fucked him up. Being as well trained as he was, he knows how to play the long game. He’s no dummy. He’s been patient and deliberate and while the US thought they’d won the Cold War, we never did win anything, just lost harder.

If he's not at fault in the crash the other guys insurance pays his bills.
If he doesn't have the very cheap "uninsured motorist" clause added to his insurance that's on him.
If he doesn't have insurance that's also on him.
If the crash is his fault that's also on him.
If the damages are more than basic insurance will cover thats what ambulance chasing lawyers that advertise on daytime housewife tv and middle of the night drunk dude tv are for.

Obamacare has nothing to do with any of it.
Get better trolls.

You mean, he isn’t on that “insurance” that the horse dude Amstel was pushing here? The commercials are so fucking stupid. They pretty much explain how all insurance works and how theirs is a miracle, etc, and what the fuck ever dude.

Insurance is a pain in the ass until you really need it. I tell you what. When I got injured on the job, I’d only worked for that company for a short period of time but had known each other for years, because I worked in the same field for a competitor and we all knew each other on friendly terms. They had a great insurance company for their worker’s compensation carrier, and I’m forever thankful. I was taken care of. You always hear horror stories about workers comp, well I have none. Class act, all the way.

When your car is smashed all to hell in the front that usually means you fucked up.
ive got a pic like that that I walked away from without a scratch. Minivan hit me headon at an intersection. Last thing i remember is being stopped waiting to turn left in a rainy intersection. A few seconds later im facing 180 degrees, theres a tiretrack over my windshield, and all my front end looks just like that. Minivan hit me headon, and actually ran over my car (low sitting honda accord). Blew out both its front tires on my engine compartment.

The claim was i turned in front of them.... but i still cant see how that wouldnt have ended up with me t-boned rather than headon collision.

i never even saw the car.

edit: found it

That looks bad, I mean not for the car but for you and the people inside.
Also shows there are exceptions to every rule, or outlying circumstances to every "most likely".

I spend a fair bit of time in junkyards, probably a little more than most. Some of the vehicles you see and how they are shaped it makes you wonder what things must've been like for the people inside them, at least while they were still with us.

Still to take a completely cold, spock-like logical view of it, for every one of those there's hundreds? who smashed the front of their shit up because they weren't paying attention to what was going on in front of them.

Of course if you're that one it doesn't much matter how many others aren't you. Your odds just became infinity:1.

The first sentence needs a disclaimer "unless in a no-fault state, in which case your own insurance pays your bills, regardless of fault."

Well there's book law and then there's reality law. There are no accidents, there are crashes. If everyone did what they're supposed to do nobody would crash into anybody else. When somebody crashes into somebody else it's because at least one of them didn't do what they're supposed to do.

No, it is reality law in no-fault states. Who was at fault only matters in those if you are permanently injured. Collision damage, wage loss, medical and personal assistance are all from your company, regardless of fault. Basically, you insure your own ass, not the other guy's. If you are uninsured, you can't collect from anybody, regardless of fault or permanent injury. Brutal but very clear-cut on who pays what. :iono:
Sometimes roads are slick, bees fly into cars, shit happens. But yeah, majority of times someone definitely was the primary or sole fuck up.
