Sociologists are part of the problem.
 
so Lonnie Coffman, of Alabama, is the guy who had 11 molotovs with styrofoam and a rifle in his truck.

I wanna point out some things here.
1. he approached police calmly to ask them to help him locate his vehicle - a vehicle which he (Lonnie) knew contained the molotovs and gun.
2. at the time that he did this, police had already searched the vehicle and were aware of its contents.
3. he gave his name, which they knew matched the name associated with said vehicle (that is, they could be reasonably sure this was not mistaken identity and he was some other guy looking for a nearly identical vehicle).
4. he asked the police if they'd located the bombs - at this time it is his claim that he was not talking about the various other bombs that had been found, but one could easily have perceived it as such
5. he was armed
6. when asked if he was armed he responded that he was
7. however he only told them the location of one of the firearms on his person, but there were two

and yet somehow, police remained totally chill throughout this, didn't shoot him, didnt fear for their lives.
