Hawt NFL Deserves Its Own Thread - THIS ONE

I agree somewhat. Although they tell us that we get back much more than the cost of the stadium. It's an investment in the community! Either way, selling naming rights seems like it would defray some of the costs away from taxpayers (although a very small amount for sure).
Yeah, I've never seen the actual math work out in the taxpayers' favor, but surely it'll happen some day, right?

Good, maybe we're done dipping into the public treasury for dumb bullshit like sportsball.
It's a weird mix. You have cities that are saying no because they really don't see the value vs civic pride. And others like Vegas that are willing to pay publicaly becuase they don't have a team and are willing to do it to get one.

Now I’m picturing you know who in Victorian garb, complete with lipstick like the queen on a playing card.

:(

In anticipation for the SB Atlanta built a pedestrian bridge that connects the transist stop to the stadium. It was so people didn’t have to walk across 4 lanes. It started at 10mil of tax money. They were worried it wasn’t going to be done in time as well as wanted a bunch of design upgrades and LED lighting etc to show off the city. That cost another 13mil in tax money. So it’s finished for a total cost of 23mil in tax money. Now this week the FBI and security team closed it and won’t allow people in because they see it as a potential security risk with inability to control it. 23mil wasted. Keep on winning ATL.

Arthur Blank should have paid for that shit in the first place.

He could have charged an entrance fee to the bridge and have his SB trophys in there for everyone to see.
