The casting was excellent, every character seemed to be just perfect. The flashbacks to Wonka's childhood seemed like filler and were rather preditcable. The Oompa Loompas were well done, but still fell far short of the original (which, in fairness, is nearly impossible to compete with).

They did keep truer to the books (with the exception of the flashbacks, mainly), as there was no Slugworth (I think that was his name), and no fizzy lifting drink. I liked that the Oompa Loompas were quite mischieveous (borderline evil).
