Tampa House Hunting Adventure

I know what radon is, just not what an A.R.M.S. is, my realtor said that having one of those systems installed might affect the VA's appraisal of a house as to whether we can get it or not.

I had to have them when I did my VA for my current house. I think only in the bedrooms though.

You're looking at too many houses. You're going to end up focusing on one or two silly, useless details to determine which one to buy at this rate.

The ones in my house are small boxes about 5 inches by 8 inches that plug directly into an outlet.
I'm not sure how those would work considering what I read and what the realtor just explained. Maybe those are detectors?

From what he said a mitigation system is when they drill a hole in the slab and run a pipe up through the house, then put a fan on top so that it pulls the radon gas up through the slab and vents it to the atmosphere.

Not sure why any lending place would frown on that, but I can see testing the functionality being a checklist item on an inspection.

Negative, senor. I look at just about everything and go "we can make this work"
However, she is focusing on silly useless details.

Right now I'm just trying to get a handle on what the hell she wants in a house, I thought I knew and obviously I have no clue, therefore I am viewing many houses.

I'm still pissed at how she turned this place down before she even got there.

She still likes this monstrosity

Based on some article that I can't find right now about how the psyche works. Something about the fact that if you look at too many items when making a decision, you end up focusing on one or two insignificant things. Apparently its best to look at a few, then take a break if you don't like them (assuming time permits).
