The repair didnt work by the way. That tv is still sitting in my attic. Its got a poorly thermalized IC someplace that would probably behave if i put a fan on it.

I was serious. One person asked about soldering - I would have opinioned that you'd probably crack the glass with focal heat like that but one could try some ACF(conductive epoxy thermo-setting tape) or old-school silver epoxy. I've done both but I'm no expert.
