My brief decade in review, in no particular order:

* attended 33 concerts.
* bought a house.
* bought 3 vehicles, 1 died (engine blew).
* parent passed away.
* did some traveling, need to do a lot more.
* took up a new hobby (amateur astronomy).
* added 10 years to running my business (currently 15.5 years).
* hired my first and second employee (currently myself and my employee).
* learned a ton about technology.
* made new friends and business contacts.
* kept same body weight.
* joined a non-profit museum as a board member and volunteer.
* survived a burst appendix.
* saw aunts, uncles, and cousins that I hadn't seen in a couple of decades.
* happier with myself.

See you all in the next decade.

Fuck, a full decade? Someone hold my beer....

Started the decade homeless
Squatted with homeless people and addicts
Brought a bargain basement mongrel pup for £70
4-5 year long abusive relationship. Gave me the gift of C-PTSD
Got the most beautiful guard dog in the entire world, to make me feel safer from the C-PTSD
Someone released an EP of my short lived noise punk band
Cemented some fantastic relationships
Graduated my degree after 7 long years of home study
Changed jobs 11 times
Doubled my annual salary at least 3 times to then throw it away to be happier but poorer
Looked after or cared for over 100 children in the care system
Got engaged to a man in New York
Got raped and then ended any engagement to anyone with a penis
Got more complex PTSD
Met some inspiring people, decided I should learn a shit load more stuff to better help people
Had the best first date of my life with the nicest man in the universe
Nicest man in the universe happily brought us the house I wanted
Pushed nicest man to pick up practising music, he now plays gigs, is in bands and has played on Frenchman Street in New Orleans. I now listen to a lot of jazz.
Lived happily with fewer fears
Enrolled on a 4 years Masters program to be a psychotherapist
Turned 30. Had a great party. Finally got to dress up as Cyndi Lauper
Helped organised a charity music festival and rekindled a relationship with a fantastic guy who I met as a teenager who has turned out to be just as lovely a man as he was a boy
Bets guard dog in the world died. My heart broke.
Quit my career with traumatised children to work supporting adult sex workers instead
Started being a trainee therapist and having clients
Only moved house 5 times
Travelled to Belgium, Prague, Spain, Houston, Up the east coast with Malachi (remember that trip guise?), New Orleans, Memphis, Chicago, St Louis, Croatia. Probably other places.
Got 6 tattoos.

Oh I'd say I visited my local pub probably 500 times based on Google tracking me.

I also spent probably 3 of the last 10 years not smoking rather than being a full time smoker. I think quitting comes with practice.

I've gotten to know some amazing people in the last decade, the older I get the more I realise relationships come and go and lots of those people wont be around regardless of how awesome it would be to have them in it. This is one of the reasons this place is kind of brilliant. You've known me longer than pretty much any person outside my blood family. Which is weird but comforting somehow.
