edit: and for anyone who wants to try that rye bread recipe you'll want to pick up some diastatic malt powder. I had to order mine online (from the King Arthur flour website), but you may be able to find it in an especially froo-froo grocery store.

I already make bread with my spent grains so it would be easy to set aside some LME for a nice rye bread too. Yum! Beer based bread ftw

Wednesday morning I drove up to Kansas to see my fam. Stopped at my Mothers first and we hung out for a while. Then my grandfather came over and tried to help me set up a place to do some 1000 yard shooting. It did not work out, but I was able to smack some dirt around 880 yards. Thursday I went to see my Father , Sister and my new Nephew. He's a chubby cheeked lil sucker. Friday I was back at my mothers and she ran over her cat, so I took it to the vet and she now has a 3 leggeded cat. He's still a pretty cool cat, just has 3 legs now.
Gramps came back over and brought some pistols and his AR. We shot at some steel for a lil bit then spent the afternoon hanging around outside cleaning pistols and talking about whatever
Saturday I woke up and got ready to go home, bad news though my truck was proper f*cked. So I left it w/ my Father, my Mother drove me to Tulsa where my other Sister lives, then she drove me home. I should be flying back to pick up my truck on Thursday.


I have 4 day weekends, so I did quite a bit.

I've used an OTDR before. It's been a while though. I'm in a global NOC now. I really miss the field work sometimes.

Wtf? You sit in a NOC all day??? That's like...death.

Went through the boxes and boxes of 33's and 78's I inherited and we've been storing for years, picked what we wanted and are preparing to freecycle. Helped friend who just moved unpack. Incubated baby some more.

Well this week since I have been unemployed :
Redid the front garden and planted new plants/mulch
Cut down two trees worth of growth from the conservation area
Bleached the whole kitchen, pulled shit out of cabinets, fridge, etc.
Job hunted, interviewed, etc.
Played on the computer a bit...

The conservation area (basically the majority of our backyard) is constantly growing into our yard (the area that I mow) so I have to trim it back. :/

saturday we cruised the bars @ st. pete beach all day
Sunday was on a boat @ beer can island
today I just laid around all day and scratched myself.

saturday - had martini's on the deck of the lakehouse most of the day... sobered up enough in the evening to ride around on my ATV on a bunch of newly discovered/blazed trails in the woods behind our cove. ended the evening getting smashed on the dock.

sunday - boated all day, basically bar hopping on the water. then went to a shrimp cook thingy at night.

today - wakeboarded this morning, did some boating this afternoon, just got home an hour or so ago. really relaxing day... might've gotten sunburned.
