Ontopic I thought that ....

that was good. beck is an unabashed jerkoff of the highest order. I also suspect he's intentionally trolling the people who watch his tripe

I've heard him say that he says things for the entertainment value. I'll have to find it later when I get home.

I was like omg I knew it!!!

I used to watch his show but I got to feeling like I should be drinking Kool-Aid or something so I stopped. My brother puts him on the radio in the mornings on the way to work sometimes and I can't believe he's totally serious, he can't be.

Uh, since when is it not?

You're out of your mind. The Tea Party is whatever Obama isn't. Nothing more.

The problem that people seem to fail to see is that the way is set. No president, or tea bag, can change it. Any abrupt change will only serve to hasten the demise. This country will fail. Massively and probably quickly. I only hope it can last another 60 years, so I don't have to deal with it.

The ones I've talked to were strict constitutionalists, came from a variety of parties actually. :iono:

(I don't watch or read "the news" though, because I don't trust a damn thing any of 'em say since NONE of them appear to get the details of things that I am familiar with remotely correctly, so how am I supposed to think they get anything right? )

I doubt it'll fail, we'll just limp along like the Euro countries and become just like the rest of the world, worthless.

If Beck was trolling then his radio show would have never have lasted as long as it has nor would he have gotten the television gig at you place of employment.

If he is lying then why hasn't Media Matters, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, N.Y. Times, Washington Post, et al been able to catch him.

So far as the Founding Fathers I knew about them before most of you were out of you eve when to school. I had an excellent teacher in 8th grade U.S. history.

Americans have become accustomed to a particular (EXPENSIVE) lifestyle and government. What happens when we simply can't print and borrow our way to that lifestyle? That doesn't work indefinitely...

I'll tell ya what happens. Strategic default, nation-style.

Maybe some Americans but not all. Some of us are not in debt over our heads. I will agree with you that if this country doesn't do a 180 concerning taxes and spending we will crash hard.

Well, with the US goal of ALWAYS having inflation, technically its silly to NOT be in debt. You're almost wasting money that way. And you're still in debt to the tune of $42,000 an American as of right now, even if you don't have a mortgage. :D

edit: And the answer is no. Americans will not do a 180. They want EVERYTHING and now.
