Thread Civil Rights Act

I only said that because you said I had to prove I was right to something so ridiculously obvious.

How about this. You and I go case for case. You post up a article on whites being discriminated against, and I'll in return post an article about a minority being discriminated against. We'll go back and forth until one runs out of articles.

Because what the news reports is really the only thing that goes on right? They report what they feel gets the most viewers/listeners only.

No, my misguided upside down friend.

I gave an explanation for the amount of power in the hands of one race, I merely pointed out that just because whites are in power doesn't mean they're holding the black man down. In saying that such disproportionate control of money is de facto evidence that there is more racism and "holding down" by that group you're making the incorrect assumption that everyone in power holds others down.

This is wrong. Thus, you are wrong.

Again.

I didn't say that because the whites are in power, that they are in fact holding the black man down. I made the point that hispanics and blacks are not the ones in power and therefor do not have the means to hold the white man down.

there is no debate really. you are making a bunch of wild claims with no backing. that is no debate. with your astounding grasp of logic I'm sure you were aware of this however.

No one else is backing their claims either. Where is your smart ass comments for them?

Oh that's right, they haven't made a bunch of "I hate America" comments, so you'll leave them alone..

nor have they called everyone in the thread stupid. you can dish it out but you sure cry like a little girl when you get it back

Affirmative action is a load of bullshit. But the amount of reverse racism, even due to affirmative action, still does not come close to that minorities receive in this country.

The Civil Rights Act's purpose was to outlaw unequal application of voter registration requirements and racial segregation in schools, at the workplace and by facilities that served the general public. Affirmative action was used very shortly after the signing of the Act to get businesses and schools to integrate sooner.

Do you think affirmative action's purpose is finished?

Well I don't come into a debate that I have not been participating in and start insulting people. Very tacky.
