Thinking of Buying a house... again.

contract is all done (did i say that already) and is being reviewed by the attorney we always use for work stuff. once he says ok it's going in.

as an aside, the agent who showed me the place when i called the listing brokerage thought she was my agent for some reason. I made it clear all along that I wasn't working with a broker. I guess she took that to mean I wasn't working with any other broker. There was a bit of bitching and moaning this morning and the broker called to try and tell me I wasn't allowed to use forms from The Real Estate Council (TREC) unless I was a licensed agent (which is BS) until they finally caved and let me represent myself.

I feel a bit bad, because she did show me the place a couple times, but that was just unlocking the door, following me around, and then rushing me out because she had another appointment. She never provided any of the freely available information on the property (previous sales price, notice that the property was paid off by the owner, tax records etc. which is all online), she never tried to offer me alternative properties that may be similar and just generally never acted like I would expect someone working for me to act.

So anyway. Offer goes in today.

handy I am not.

I'm with you. I'm more than happy to have a few drinks and think it's a good idea to paint my kitchen the same color as my favorite pair of burgundy boots, but it gets messy... flooring I'd be useless with.

:p

that's a very good idea. i'll have to get some.

edit: in the meantime, enjoy this very rough, uncompressed paint sketch. I would have sketched it in autocad but drawing things wrong in cad gives me the shakes and I don't have accurate dimensions.

That's enter into living/dining. Two bedrooms (or bedroom/office, both on left) one bath in upper left (needs to be rearranged) kitchen in upper right, front porch, w/d connection inside back door (needs to be built into a closet or something)

Have you ever read someone's post and suddenly wanted the knowledge that they had?

I love you Johnny, Valve, and hawk. The rest of you suck.

The attorney approved it with a couple minor changes. The contract is now in. I gave them until Monday at 5pm to review it.

As with any new house try to get a place with a decent crawl space to hide the bodies.
since it's pier and beam I figure I can put a trapdoor in a closet that allows me to drop under the house from inside where I can start digging a "bomb shelter"
