Will you be my intarweb friend?

people with overlays make myspace pimp. i haven't seen one in awhile though so maybe they have disabled it... but i wouldn't know since i don't have myspace

wow, 1280x1024 isn't a large enough resolution for some of your profiles (sarcasmo)....

I couldn't seem to find an overlay (as said dunno if they are still allowed), I did seem to find a somewhat decent profile layout. I hate when people use same color text on a same color background. bleh

I only recently joined myspace as well. Mainly use it to keep up with family (like one of my cousins who found me on myspace and messaged me, who I hadn't talked with in like 15 yrs :p ).

...what about those that do not go to college. Aren't you supposed to be in college to use it?

Well it is open to anyone now, but it still seems geared towards hs/college people. I like its clean interface. Hopefully myspace will follow with a web 2.0 type interface that is clean and uncluttered like it is now.

 I just asked flynavy that

Me: what is facebook?
Flynavy: like myspace but it started out just for college students
Me: what if you didn't go to college?
Flynavy: anyone can join now

yup. it's open to anyone now, so i'm back in touch with even my highschool dropout friends from home.

Yeah that would be nice, Myspace is so... 90s.

It's one thing to post on internet forums and all that, but for me it seems really creepy to do the same thing with my real identity. I know that sounds stupid, but for the most part there is enough of a sense of annonymity on forums which helps me feel at least a little sheltered. The thought of using my real name and all of that seriously gives me the shivers and not in a good way.

Fortunately myspace and most of the other social networking sites don't require you to have legit names. You can put in whatever you want for a name, then only give your profile out to friends, set your profile private, etc etc. But yeah, I can see where people think it is creepy.

a friend at work wanted me to join it a while ago and discovered my podunk community college wasn't  enough to be included  so she made me join myspace instead

but we already know the real you. you spam enough that we know all....or it is a bot? OMG SARAHBOT 5000

not only are pretty much every one of my canadian friends on facebook, a lot of my family is also. it's definitely not very popular in the US though. i think it's because most USians still think it's for college kids only. i'm pretty sure facebook will end up with unique members eventually simply because the bar is so much lower for membership. there's no pressure to immediately have to put in several hours refining a profile.
