I wonder what the "serving size" is for those comparisons, I've had some of those crazy engineered sauces with scoville units in the millions and a 'reasonable amount' of that stuff doesn't burn as much as thoroughly chewing an entire habanero (In my experience). I'm sure if I took a comparable volume of the sauce and swished with it I would feel the difference
Well I have a real life comparison for you then...
Our resident "crazy office guy" chewed 4 habanero's at once, smiled and said "ouch that be painful". We dipped a cheeto into the MD 357 so that about a quarter inch up was covered, he ran directly to the bathroom. Came back into the office an hour later, still sweating and it looked like he had just ate it.
I take the end of a toothpick and dab it into the hot sauce, swirl it around in my soup and sometimes it is just way to hot to eat.
Actual Comparison...
I am not talking the stuff that says 8000000000 scoville units but is $3.99 a bottle. I am talking the 20 dollar small bottle of 6 million extract which is like 600,000 true scoville units. This means that it is twice the heat as a habanero in whatever size comparison you want, a toothpick drop, doesnt matter.
