dating blog

Internet dating is not as bad as you're making it out to be. Maybe I'm just partial because I found my soul mate on here... but I find it superior to the bar/club scene.

You were willing to move however. I'm just getting to the point that I'm established so I don't see myself moving up north or out west unless its job related. There have been cases around here where people have been robbed and stabbed by setting up dates online. I'm glad it worked out for you but that was a few years ago.

Whats the difference of a few years ago and today? The danger was present then as well.s

Step 1. Join a forum with people you don't already know .. or one that has a ton of people to choose from.

Step 2. Don't look for anyone.

Step 3. Fall madly in love.

Step 4. Move.

Step 5. Live happily ever after.

Step 6. Die a happy person.

Step 2 is important. If you're on the hunt, you are just setting yourself up for disaster.

People didn't think of as many scams yet and some of the tricks are more elaborate. Most of the Craig's list stuff that was done here last year were long setups. They would talk for weeks online, go out on the date and at some point the girls real boyfriend would come out of the woodwork and jack the dude for his money.

You do realize people have been doing that IRL .. since even before the intranet was born, right?

Whoa, you're passing on falling in love? You can't be a player for life, the chicks will make fun of you once you reach a certain age.

passing on using the internet for it...I think it sucks and will continue to feel that way

you do know that billions of people have successfully fallen in love sans internet, right? I've done it a number of times myself

All I'm saying is that Just because one or two people I know had it work out fine doesn't mean its great. I've shelled out money to dating sites before and it was a disaster, and the free ones have their own problems. It doesn't work for me and I'm saying it from experience, not because I'm paranoid.

I had to go over to our Techwood campus a few blocks away a little while ago and despite there being 1000's of people working there I still ran into my ex...she looked great...that bitch :fly:
