Since most people don't bother to read the instructions

The funny thing about this is how many people actually still have land lines.

Cell phones are over rated. I had one for about 5-6 years and at the end found it to be more of a hassle. I prefer to have a land line, it is cheaper for us, and I hated people always calling our cells before our home phone. There is a wonderful freedom in not being able to be reached.

From what I can see, the limit seems to be a percentage more than a hard number. Anyone else better at finding info on this? (FlamingGlory google skillz needed)

%50 of your adjusted gross income (for churches).

Each contribution has to be under $75 if you dont keep reciepts. You also have to record the date of each contribution.

Tithes are not donations. They were 1/10 of your income that some churches collected in the middle ages. Nothing about them in American tax law because they havent been collected in about 400 years :p

If everyone starts doing them they'll catch on to us.

Alright, I'll tell you #1.

Tell your employers you will only accept cash from now on.

They would still do with-holding... o_O

I want to be paid in pieces of eight at my next job. Or a percentage of loot.

I'm currently reading The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. What a scathing retort for the religious folk of the world. Wow.

Boring atheist rhetoric. About 3/4ths he starts the whole building "atheism is the only way" blah blah. Nihlist are so much more interesting. They arent interested in constructing any kind of belief system.

That's what I had found, but wasn't sure if it was the only one or still current.

Not to be a tax idiot, but what adjustments are in the adjusted gross income?

Dawkins writing style is horribly boring. However, I find the topic to be very interesting.

i used to be 1099 at my current job. it allowed my tax guy to do all sorts of fun things with home offices and travel for work and whatnot. not that's i'm w2 and i do my own taxes i think i'm probably only paying what i'm supposed to pay, but that's overpaying compared to the bad old days.

at least i don't have to worry about an audit. it's not like they're going to ask for receipts for all the deductions i didn't take. the only thing i get is the standard deduction and the student loan interest deduction.

no dependants, i rent and i don't donate any money or make charitable contributions that would be more valuable than the standard deduction.

It's line 37 on your 1040. It's all the money you got, less what you can deduct before taxes.
